DISINTEGRATING INTO ADULTHOOD

My journey through the abyss of anorexia and alcoholism, and how I walked, and wrote, myself well

Unfiltered personal account of one woman's battle with anorexia and alcoholism, told with insightful detail, captivating prose, and passionately raw poetry. Spread over the course of four decades, the book digs into the ravages of mental illness: from the tumultuous teenage years burdened by an unattainable quest for perfection, to the turbulent journey towards love and marriage and motherhood, and the subsequent unraveling into full-blown alcoholism that almost claimed her life. A tale of personal self-discovery and growth, along a teetering and unpredictable road to recovery, and eventual sustained sobriety, it thoroughly encapsulates the intense struggles so many women face to find meaningful purpose in this chaotic and confusing world.
